Shrub Oak Man, 28, Faces DWI Charge After Traffic Stop

A man from Shrub Oak is facing DWI charges after he was pulled over for a traffic infraction, police say.

A Yorktown police officer initiated a traffic stop on Glen Road on Saturday, March 16 around 3:30 a.m. The officer pulled the vehicle over after observing the driver fail to keep right while driving with an obstructed view.

Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as 28-year-old Oliverio Mejia, Jr. of Shrub Oak, was allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Mejia, Jr. was arrested, transported to Yorktown Police Department and charged with the following:

Driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor
Failing to keep right, a traffic violation
Obstructed view, a traffic violation

Mejia, Jr. was released to a family member after posting $100 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear at Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, March 28.
